Bryant Profile

Bryant Mitchell – Owner/Coach

Bryant was born right here in Portsmouth at the former Pease Air Force Base and grew up in Kingston, NH. He attended The University of New Hampshire where as “walk on” he earned a full scholarship and starting position on the football team (truth be told – he spent most his time injured and watching from the sidelines!). After graduation Bryant’s career has been spent mostly in the health and fitness field leading customer service, sales, and managerial teams.  It wasn’t until starting work at Reebok in 2011 that Bryant was first exposed to CrossFit. In fact, as Reebok’s Fitness and Community Manager, Bryant’s team works directly with the owners and coaches of the 6,000 plus US based CrossFit affiliates.  Bryant received his M.B.A. from the Babson College Olin School of Business in 2007; he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS®) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA™) and is both a CrossFit Level 1 and CrossFit Endurance certificate holder.  Bryant, his wife (and business partner) Abby, and two boys, Landon and Wyatt, live in Amesbury, MA.

Abby Mitchell – Owner/Coach

Abby is originally from southern Maine. She graduated from The University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science and it was there that she really found a passion for fitness and wellness.  Abby enjoys being active, played college field hockey (freshman year) and completed the Boston Marathon. After her graduation from UNH Abby worked in the health and fitness field for over 8 years wearing many hats–personal trainer, account manager, sales, customer service, and fitness center manager, just to name a few.  About 8 years ago Abby left the industry to assume the Marketing Director role for a software company where she was responsible for event planning, branding, public relations, and planning/executing campaigns.  However, she never lost her passion for fitness or her desire to work in the fitness industry.  When she first found CrossFit in 2011, she was hooked and knew that one day she wanted to own and operate a CrossFit box. With a strong foundation in health and fitness combined with her marketing experience, Abby’s a great fit as a coach and to lead the marketing and sales efforts for CFBF.  She enjoys participating in not only CrossFit but 5K races, sprint triathlons, adventure races, paddle boarding, biking, yoga and skiing.  In addition to her degree, she is a CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Endurance and CrossFit Kids certificate holder.  Abby, her husband (and business partner) Bryant, and two boys, Landon and Wyatt, live in Amesbury, MA.

CrossFit Kids

“As a busy mother of two young boys, I understand first-hand the challenges involved with staying active and fit. Going through two pregnancies in four years, gaining, losing, and gaining (back) baby weight, trying to find the time to exercise with day care drop off/pick up, not to mention a 2.5 hour round trip commute . . . it can be overwhelming and even seem impossible at times. Our goal is simple – to provide you with the support, motivation and convenience to make it a reality.”
